Wish you had a straighter smile, but don’t want to hassle with metal braces? We invite you to discover an effective and highly convenient solution in orthodontics: Invisalign. At Atlantic Dental Partners, our dentists are Invisalign Preferred Providers, giving adults and teens the opportunity to straighten their teeth without others even noticing. Invisalign is a revolutionary clear orthodontic system that relies on removable aligners to gently move your teeth into proper position. If you have teeth that are crooked, gapped or misaligned or a smile that shows excessive gum in the front, Invisalign may be the solution you’ve been waiting for.
Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners that are changed out every two weeks. The aligners are made of smooth plastic for your comfort and they are removable for your convenience. Unlike traditional braces, you don’t have to avoid certain foods or work harder to keep your teeth and gums healthy during treatment. Patients can easily take out their aligners for eating, brushing and flossing. This innovative orthodontic system gives adults excellent results in smile correction without disrupting their lifestyle or their self-confidence in the process. In fact, Invisalign is so discreet that most people won’t even know you are undergoing an orthodontic correction. Whether you didn’t have the braces you needed as a child or your teeth have migrated back to their original position, we can help you at Atlantic Dental Partners.
Not only is Invisalign an attractive option for adults, but teens can also benefit from this proven system. Invisalign Teen addresses many of the drawbacks that adolescents face when getting braces. With Invisalign, they won’t have to worry about how they look in front of their peers, and they can still enjoy popcorn and occasional candy without compromising their orthodontic treatment. In addition, many teens suffer from unsightly white spots or puffy gums after braces due to poor oral hygiene. Since Invisalign Teen aligners are removed for brushing and flossing, there is no barrier to achieving optimal oral health. This means that when treatment is complete, a healthy and brilliant smile is revealed.
Invisalign and Invisalign Teen deliver the following valued advantages:
- Virtually Invisible
- Removable, Easy To Clean
- Convenient, No Need for Frequent Adjustments
- No Food Restrictions
- Faster Results

How does Invisalign® work?
Invisalign uses a series of comfortable clear aligners to shift and align the teeth. Patients are instructed to wear each aligner for at least 21 to 22 hours per day for two weeks to give the aligner enough time to shift the teeth and keep their treatment plan on track. We will schedule orthodontic appointments every four to six weeks to evaluate your progress and allow you to pick up your next set of aligners. Once your orthodontic treatment is complete, we will create a retainer for you to wear at night to keep your smile looking beautiful and straight!
How long do Invisalign treatments take?
The average treatment time for Invisalign is 12 to 18 months, although patients can have shorter or longer plans depending on their orthodontic issues. Since Invisalign uses removable clear aligners, patients play a big role in the efficiency and effectiveness of their treatment plan. The best thing you can do to keep your treatment as short as possible to wear your aligners at all times except when you are eating or brushing your teeth. Our team can give you an estimate for approximately how long your treatment plan will be at your Invisalign consultation.
Is clear aligner therapy painful?
Many patients say that Invisalign clear aligners are among the most comfortable due to the smooth plastic that they’re made of. However, when you begin wearing clear aligners for the first time, you should expect to feel some pain and discomfort for the first couple of days. Clear aligners begin working right away, and your teeth will not be used to being adjusted. We recommend having some over-the-counter pain medication on hand. Eating popsicles and other cold foods can help as well. Eventually, your teeth will adjust and wearing clear aligners will feel totally natural!
